What Is Covered
Moving help covers carrying boxes and furniture from the building lobby or loading dock to your unit, placing furniture in your chosen rooms, assembling flat-pack pieces after delivery, and mounting (TV, shelves, curtain rods) as part of the same visit.
For a move-in where furniture is being delivered and you need someone to be there for the delivery, accept the items, carry them up, and assemble everything the same day — this is the most common moving-help scenario. It typically runs 4–6 hours for a one-bedroom unit.
What Is Not Covered
Moving help from Fixly does not include driving a truck, transporting furniture between addresses, or operating as a moving company. For a full move involving a truck and multiple locations, you need a licensed moving company. Fixly can handle the destination-side setup once everything is in your unit.
Very heavy items (grand pianos, gun safes, industrial equipment) are also outside scope. Standard household furniture — beds, couches, dressers, boxes — is fine.
Elevator Booking
In most downtown Toronto condos, the service elevator needs to be booked in advance for move-in. Do this before scheduling the moving help visit — the elevator slot determines what time the job can start. Most buildings require 24–48 hours notice, and weekend slots on month-end dates book up fast.
Once you have the elevator slot confirmed, book the moving help visit to start 30 minutes before the elevator window begins. This gives time to park, make contact, and be ready when the window opens.
