Terms of Service

These terms apply when you hire Fixly Services ("Fixly", "we", "us") for handyman work and when you use this site to pay for that work. By texting us, hiring us, or paying through /pay/, you agree to these terms.

The service

Fixly offers light residential handyman work in downtown Toronto — furniture assembly, wall mounting, minor repairs, babyproofing, room measurement, and moving help. We do not do: electrical wiring behind walls, plumbing inside walls, gas lines, structural work, roofing, or anything that requires a licensed trade.

Pricing

• Hourly rate is $30 CAD per hour, billed in 15-minute increments.
• Minimum billable time per visit is 2 hours.
• If extra time is needed, we will tell you before going over.
• Small materials (screws, anchors, etc.) are agreed in advance.
• Promo codes may discount labor only. They never apply to tips. Codes can be changed or ended at any time.

Payment

• You pay through /pay/ after the work is done, using a card. Stripe processes the charge.
• The total you confirm on the review screen is the amount we charge.
• All payments are in Canadian dollars.
• You agree the time entered reflects the time actually worked.

Your responsibilities

• Provide safe access to the work area.
• Tell us about hazards we may not see (e.g., asbestos, unstable surfaces).
• For assembly work, have all the parts and instructions ready.
• Make sure you are allowed to do the work (e.g., condo rules, landlord approval for wall mounting).

What we promise

We will show up on time, do the work properly, and clean up after. If you're not happy with something, tell us within 7 days and we'll come back to fix it free.

Limits of liability

To the extent allowed by Ontario law, our total liability for any single job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We're not responsible for indirect or consequential losses (lost work time, lost rent, etc.). Nothing in these terms limits liability for things that can't be limited by law (such as physical injury caused by us).

Photos

We may keep photos of finished work for our portfolio. We will not include personal items, mail, faces, or anything else that can be used to identify you. Your address is never shown. If you'd rather your job not be photographed at all, just tell us before we start.

Safety & insurance

We work carefully and use proper tools, but light handyman service is not licensed trade work. For anything that requires a licensed trade (electrical behind walls, gas, plumbing inside walls, structural), we will tell you and recommend a licensed contractor. You confirm that your space is suitable for the work requested.

Disputes

If something goes wrong, please tell us first — we want a chance to make it right. If we can't resolve it directly, you may file a claim in the appropriate court in Toronto, Ontario, including Ontario's Small Claims Court for amounts within its limit.

Changes

If we change these terms, we'll update the date and version at the bottom of this page. Material changes will be summarized in a brief notice on the home page for a reasonable period after they take effect.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the applicable federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
